About this piece
Known as the work horse in many kitchens, the gyuto is a Japanese style chef knife. The gyuto features a forged o1 high carbon steel blade. Dan forges each blade, and he leaves hammer marks from the forging process visible as a defining design detail. No two blades are ever exactly the same. He then adds a handle that is carefully designed to complement the blade, creating a balanced and timeless aesthetic. This gyuto has copper, black micarta and turquoise composite spacers and a copper bolster that beautifully accent this leopard wood handle. The wood is stabilized with a heat treat resin that hardens and strengthens the wood. The handle is finished with a solid copper pin. Handcrafted to be used and admired, Hammer & Tine knives offer dependable performance and excellent edge retention.
