Dana Gleason

Dana Gleason has been building packs since the 1970s. He founded Dana Design, sold it, watched it decline, and then started Mystery Ranch in 2000 because he couldn't stop making packs. The 3-ZIP design — a full-length zipper that opens the main compartment like a book — came from watching smokejumpers dig through their gear in a hurry. Today Mystery Ranch supplies packs to USFS hotshot crews, Navy SEALs, and backcountry hunters who need a pack that carries 100+ pounds without complaint.
