About this piece
These water bottles double as a mushroom foraging field guide. Depicted are some of the most common (and delicious) edible mushrooms found on the West Coast: Chanterelles, Black Trumpets, Morels, Oysters, and Porcinis. If you see any of these in the field, you’re in luck. Please be careful though. Refer to a scientific guide book and be 100% sure the mushrooms are not poisonous before consuming. Our standard BPA-free Purist bottles have a leak-free cap and large (26oz) capacity. Illustrated in a vintage “woodcut” style by our friend Max .
About the artist
Kyle Ng founded Outer Shell in San Francisco in 2015 with a focus on durable, repairable bags built from recycled sailcloth fabrics partnered with Challenge Sailcloth. He competed under a solo label for a few years before Jim joined in late 2018 from his own brand Fog City Bags. Every product is still handcrafted in their San Francisco shop, with a flagship inside Box Dog Bikes that carries the full line.
