Keystone species help pollinate and are vital to maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Due to their incredibly fast metabolism they need to eat twice their size in nectar (daily) Roughly 10% of Hummingbird species are considered threatened. Their biggest threats are habitat devastation. increased usage of pesticides, which impact their food supply and depletes nutrition.
