The Hummingbird The hummingbird can beat their wings between 60-200 times per second! They are considered to be a keystone species. Keystone species help pollinate and are vital to maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Due to their incredibly fast metabolism they need to eat twice their size in nectar (daily) Roughly 10% of Hummingbird species are considered threatened. Their biggest threats are habitat devastation. increased usage of pesticides, which impact their food supply and depletes nutrition. Generating awareness around threatened species and wildlands through affordable and functional art.
