About this piece
Your heart’s desire is to be told some mystery. So, here goes nothing. We don’t know what you’ll get, but based on your desired height, size, and gender, we’ll send you a pair. We’ll admit, it’s less a Sherlockian-riddle than it is a chance to score some exclusive knits. But even if the world’s best (British) detective did get assigned this case, odds are it would take him a lifetime to crack. Luckily, our socks are good for it.
About the artist
Ric Cabot's family has been making socks in the same Northfield mill since 1978. When cheap imports nearly killed the business, Ric pivoted to premium merino wool and slapped an unconditional lifetime guarantee on every pair. The bet worked. Darn Tough now knits over 30,000 pairs a day, employs 300+ Vermonters, and has an estimated return rate under 3%. The guarantee isn't a gimmick — it's a quality control mechanism that forces them to build socks that simply don't wear out.
