About the artist
Ric Cabot's family has been making socks in the same Northfield mill since 1978. When cheap imports nearly killed the business, Ric pivoted to premium merino wool and slapped an unconditional lifetime guarantee on every pair. The bet worked. Darn Tough now knits over 30,000 pairs a day, employs 300+ Vermonters, and has an estimated return rate under 3%. The guarantee isn't a gimmick — it's a quality control mechanism that forces them to build socks that simply don't wear out.
