Fernie Forge

An eclectic gallery in historic downtown Fernie showcasing Canadian painters, ceramicists, glass artists, jewellery designers, and furniture makers. Founded by Tara Higgins in 2019, the corner storefront with large windows has become a destination for handcrafted art and home decor from emerging and established artists.

Hand-built slab pottery from a home studio on the edge of Fernie. Sarah Pike carves custom stamps and rollers to impress raised textures into clay, creating functional pieces inspired by antique tinware, weathered metal, and the Elk Valley landscape. With 228K Instagram followers, her work has a devoted international following.

Artist co-op on Baker Street open since 1983, featuring Nelson's largest selection of local art — pottery, metalwork, wood, glass, leather, textiles, and jewellery from over 250 Kootenay-area artisans. Six working artists run the store and sell alongside their consignees in a town named Canada's top small arts community.
