This colorful piece will always transport you to summertime in California's Eastern Sierra. The Mount Whitney skyline with red paintbrush and desert daisies in the foreground is realistic and whimsical. A full moon sets as the first light of day hits the high granite peaks. This painting was inspired by a recent trip to the Alabama Hills, and I painted the beginning portion of it plein-air with this view.
