The Ski Aviators Prescription (Rx) model pay homage to the most iconic ski sunglasses design ever made - a style which dominated ski culture in the 70s and early 80s. The epitome of cool, they were worn by everyone from the greatest skiers to the biggest movie stars - from VALLON ambassador Wayne Wong (who has his own Special Edition model) to Paul Newman and Robert Redford. They came in all different sizes and colors, and then they completely disappeared. We have made it our mission to bring them back to their former glory, now updated with a modified design allowing for a modern fit and exceptionally clear performance lenses from the world leading manufacturer of prescription lenses Essilor. About the artist

Brothers Marcus and Richard Franck founded Vallon in 2018 in Verbier, Switzerland, after years of skiing, touring, and hiking the Val de Bagnes. The name is French for 'small valley' — a reference to the Vallon d'Arbi above Verbier where the idea took shape. Before launching the brand, the two ran the Old Schoolers Instagram account dedicated to the history of skiing; that obsession with vintage alpine eyewear shows up in every Vallon model — classic shapes resurrected with modern V52 lens technology and contemporary frame materials.
