About this piece

We partnered with Boris Herrmann and Team Malizia to develop the best sustainable sunglasses for ocean racing and sailing. Designed with a durable base 8 wraparound frame crafted from 85% recycled fishing nets, they are equipped with V52® polarized lenses for ultraclear sharp vision. Malizia are delivered with a unique Sport Retainer, and a protective case with a clip-on hook and belt straps.

About the artist

Brothers Marcus and Richard Franck founded Vallon in 2018 in Verbier, Switzerland, after years of skiing, touring, and hiking the Val de Bagnes. The name is French for 'small valley' — a reference to the Vallon d'Arbi above Verbier where the idea took shape. Before launching the brand, the two ran the Old Schoolers Instagram account dedicated to the history of skiing; that obsession with vintage alpine eyewear shows up in every Vallon model — classic shapes resurrected with modern V52 lens technology and contemporary frame materials.
